Focusing on MBKM Cooperation, USU and PT Musim Mas Extend the Collaboration

The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially extended the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Musim Mas on Monday (07/22/2024) at the Rector's Audience Room, 3rd Floor, USU Rectorate Building. The MoU was signed by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, and Lenny, Head HR Corporate of PT Musim Mas.

The event was attended by various important officials from both parties, including Ikhsan Siregar, S.T, M.Eng (Director of the Directorate of Education Development), Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T (Director of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships), as well as Erlina (Commissioner of PT Musim Mas), Julina (HR Manager), Andri Taher (Recruitment Manager), Tiffany (Project Coordinator), and Rhea (Project Coordinator) from PT Musim Mas.
 

 

In his remarks, USU Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, expressed his hope that this collaboration can expand areas of cooperation, including internship programs, Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM), and independent studies. "We hope that this collaboration can involve students, lecturers, and the leadership of PT Musim Mas in various programs. One of them is a special class for master students at the Faculty of Law," said Prof. Muryanto.
 

 

Erlina, Commissioner of PT Musim Mas, also expressed her commitment to supporting human resource development in education. "Hopefully, with this collaboration, we can develop human resources in the field of education," said Erlina. In addition, Erlina added that her party is still in the discussion stage regarding the financing and design of the building construction (lounge) at the USU Faculty of Law.

 

Ikhsan Siregar, Director of the USU Directorate of Education Development, explained the various categories in the MBKM program that USU students can utilize. "MBKM has many categories, including internships, independent studies, teaching campuses, KKN, and Humanitarian Projects. We hope that USU students can be allowed to do a six-month internship at PT Musim Mas, which will later evaluate and assess the students," Ikhsan explained.
 

 

The event ended with the presentation of a plaque from Universitas Sumatera Utara to PT Musim Mas and a group photo. This cooperation is expected to benefit both parties, especially in the development of education and improving the quality of human resources.
