USU and PERATIN North Sumatra Discuss Advocate Scholarship Program for Underprivileged Students and Alumni

USU and PERATIN North Sumatra discussed a program providing 50 scholarships for Special Advocate Professional Education for underprivileged students and alumni to support more inclusive and competitive access to legal professional education.
Medan, 26 May 2026 — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) received an audience visit from the Regional Board of the Indonesian Information Technology Advocates Association (DPD PERATIN) North Sumatra to discuss potential collaboration on a Special Advocate Professional Education (PKPA) scholarship program for USU students and alumni.
The audience meeting, held in the Equity Meeting Room of Vice Rector III on the 3rd Floor of the USU Rectorate Building, was attended by the Chairman of PERATIN Sumatera Utara, Jalil Taufik, S.H., M.H. Representatives from Universitas Sumatera Utara included the Director of the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization, Dewi Masyithah Darlan, the Secretary of the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization, Rondang Tambun, the Secretary of the Directorate of Student Admission and Services, Nana Dyki Dirbawanto, Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Law, Mohammad Ekaputra, and Cooperation Manager, Amalia Meutia.
PERATIN Sumatera Utara expressed its commitment to providing 50 scholarships for the Special Advocate Professional Education Program to underprivileged USU students and alumni. The program aims to support the development of human resources in the legal sector while expanding access for young people to pursue careers as advocates.
The Director of the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization at Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dewi Masyithah Darlan, expressed appreciation for PERATIN North Sumatra’s initiative in supporting USU students and alumni through the professional scholarship program.
“This program is a very positive form of collaboration in supporting greater access to professional education for students and alumni who have strong potential but face economic limitations. USU warmly welcomes this initiative as it aligns with the university’s commitment to producing outstanding and competitive graduates,” she stated.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of PERATIN Sumatera Utara, Jalil Taufik, S.H., M.H., emphasized that the scholarship program is part of the organization’s contribution to supporting the development of the advocate profession in Indonesia.
“We want to provide broader opportunities for students and alumni of the Faculty of Law at USU to continue advocate professional education without being hindered by economic factors. We hope this program will produce young advocates who are professional, have integrity, and are capable of facing the challenges of information technology development in the legal field,” he explained.
Through this audience meeting, it is expected that stronger synergy will be established between Universitas Sumatera Utara and PERATIN Sumatera Utara in supporting the development of legal professional education, while also expanding scholarship access for students and alumni in need.
