Pertamina Goes to Campus at USU: "Energizing the Future Together"

Inspiring Students towards a Sustainable Energy Future, The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a "Pertamina Goes to Campus" event with the theme "Energizing the Future Together" on Tuesday (21/05/2024) at the Prof. Dr. Suhadji Hadibroto FEB Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) USU. The event, which was attended by several important figures from Pertamina and USU academics, attracted many enthusiastic students about the future of energy and career opportunities in the industry.

USU's Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan S.Si., M.Si., Apt., and USU's Manager of Entrepreneurship and Career Development, Ami Dilham SE., M.Si., were present to give opening remarks. They emphasized the importance of synergy between academia and industry in forming a young generation ready to face the challenges of the energy sector in the future.

From Pertamina's side, Julfi Hadi, President Director of PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk, shared his views on the future of renewable energy in Indonesia. He emphasized that Pertamina is here to inspire and open opportunities for USU students to participate in shaping a sustainable energy future. Julfi Hadi also highlighted the urgency of climate change and Indonesia's important role in achieving the net zero emission target by 2050.

In addition to Julfi Hadi, David Marito Saragih Turnip, PGE Human Capital Manager, gave a presentation on the recruitment stages at Pertamina. He explained in detail the process applicants must undergo to become part of this company. Eka Permana Sidik, VP of Human Capital of PT Pertamina Power Indonesia, also provided insight into Pertamina's career development strategies and innovations to support the career growth of its employees.

Iqbal Suwitamihardja, DW Etiquette Trainer, closed the seminar by providing lectures and training on ethics and professionalism in job interviews. This session is especially relevant for students who will soon enter the workforce, providing them with useful tools to face the selection process in various companies.

The event successfully attracted the attention and interest of the students who attended. They had the opportunity to interact directly with professionals from Pertamina and gain a deeper understanding of the energy industry in Indonesia.
