Strengthening Global Networks, USU Collaborates with the Consulate General of India to

Medan, 16 April 2026 — Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) menerima audiensi dari Konsulat Jenderal India dalam rangka mengoordinasikan persiapan penyelenggaraan seminar internasional serta memperkuat partisipasi dalam forum akademik global. Pertemuan ini menjadi bagian dari upaya strategis USU dalam memperluas jejaring kerja sama internasional.

Strengthening Global Networks, USU Collaborates with the Consulate General of India to Prepare for the 2026 International Seminar

 

The hybrid meeting took place at the Equity Meeting Room, 3rd Floor of the USU Rectorate Building. The session was attended by the Director of the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization of USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Dewi Masyithah Darlan, DAP&E., MPH., Sp.Park; the Director of the Directorate of Scientific Writing, Publication, and Publishing, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Irvan, M.Si, along with his team; and the Cooperation Manager, Amalia Meutia, M.Psi., Psychologist. Meanwhile, the Consulate General of India was represented by Ankit Sharma, Assistant Consular Officer.

During the meeting, both parties discussed preparations for an international seminar initiated by the Consulate General of India, which is planned to be held in November 2026. In addition, the discussion covered the participation of the Consulate General of India in The 1st International Conference on Population and Family Development (ICoPof) 2026, one of the key international academic agendas at USU.

 

Prof. Irvan, Director of the Directorate of Scientific Writing, Publication, and Publishing at USU, expressed his readiness to support the implementation of the international seminar, particularly in academic aspects, conference management, and scientific publication to ensure the event meets international standards.

The Director of the Directorate of Cooperation and Internationalization of USU, Prof. Dr. dr. Dewi Masyithah Darlan, emphasized that this collaboration represents a strategic step in enhancing USU’s global exposure.

“USU welcomes the initiative from the Consulate General of India. This collaboration not only strengthens international networks but also promotes the advancement of globally standardized academic activities,” she stated.

Meanwhile, Ankit Sharma, Assistant Consular Officer of the Consulate General of India, expressed appreciation for USU’s support.

 

“We appreciate the readiness and commitment of the University of North Sumatra in supporting the organization of this international seminar. We hope this event will serve as a collaborative platform to strengthen academic and research relations between India and Indonesia,” he said.

Through this meeting, it is expected that stronger cooperation will be established between USU and the Consulate General of India—not only in organizing international academic events but also in fostering future collaborations in research and knowledge exchange.
