The public lecture was opened by Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi, M.Psi, Director of the Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, who, in her speech, conveyed the importance of cooperation between academia and industry in encouraging innovation and student achievement. "Collaboration with SUCOFINDO is a strategic step to connect the academic world with industry, providing practical insights and opportunities to students," Rahma said.
Also present as keynote speakers were Dr. M. Ichwan, M.Sc., Head of the Biomedical Science Master Program at the USU Faculty of Medicine, and Bima Iriantika, Business Development Manager at PT Sucofindo. Both experts shared in-depth insights on the "Assurance on Life Science Innovation" event theme. Dr. Ichwan highlighted the importance of innovation in biomedical science for advancing public health. At the same time, Bima Iriantika discussed SUCOFINDO's role in providing quality and safety assurance on innovations in the industrial field.
"Science Hackfest 2024" is a scientific innovation competition and exhibition held by SUCOFINDO to encourage creativity and innovation among students and young researchers. This event is expected to be a platform for innovators to present their ideas, get expert feedback, and establish industry connections.
The students who attended the event responded positively. They gained new insights into the importance of quality assurance in scientific innovation and how industries such as SUCOFINDO can support and facilitate such innovation.
With this public lecture, the relationship between the Universitas Sumatera Utara and SUCOFINDO will strengthen, opening up opportunities for further cooperation in research and development and preparing USU students to contribute to the life science industry in the future.
