Supporting the Achievement of SDGs, USU Holds Selection of USU 2024 SDGs Ambassador

The Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held an election for the Universitas Sumatera Utara 2024 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Ambassador on Wednesday (24/04/2024) at the Multipurpose Hall of FISIP USU. This activity was held to find outstanding young people who would become USU ambassadors or representatives in promoting the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations (UN).
Also attending this activity were the Director of the Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations, Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi., M.Psi, Manager of the Directorate of Internationalization, Prof. Rikson Asman Fertiles Siburian, M.Si., Ph.D, and Manager of Global Partnerships, Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si as well as the jury in this SDGs ambassador selection activity. The jury for the selection of the USU 2024 SDGs Ambassador consisted of three parts, namely the English Competency test jury, Prof. Rudy Sofyan, SS, M.Hum, the Psychotest test jury, Amalia Meutia, M.Psi, Psychologist, and the Knowledge of SDGs test jury, Dr. Wahyu Ario Pratomo, SE, M.Ec.
Vice Rector III for Research, Community Service and USU Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si, gave a speech and opened the USU SDGs Ambassador Selection activity. She hopes that through the selection of SDGs ambassadors, the selected ambassadors will be able to contribute solutions to various global problems today.
"I hope that the selected SDG ambassadors will be intelligent figures who inspire and motivate the environment, think quickly and creatively, and provide solutions to current global problems," Poppy said.
The 16 participants who attended the selection of USU 2024 SDGs Ambassadors amounted to 20 participants who registered themselves. On this occasion, all participants underwent three tests: the English Competency Test (listening, reading, and structure), the Psychotest, and the Knowledge Test on SDGs.Â
The English Competency Test, which consists of three parts, namely listening, reading, and structure, took two hours, then continued with the Psychotest test, which was directly guided by Amalia Meutia, M.Psi., Psychologist as a judge. This Psychotest exam allowed participants to describe themselves through writing and drawing. The Knowledge Test on SDGs is an important in selecting the University of North Sumatra 2024 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Ambassador.
As additional information, participants selected for the final stage will be contacted via WhatsApp. They must participate in the next stage: interviews and presentations on Youth Volunteerism in SDGs on April 29, 2024. Furthermore, the top three participants will be selected to become the 2024 USU SDGs Ambassador.
