Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) recently held an audience meeting with Bank Muamalat on Thursday (4/7/2024) to discuss opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, especially those focused on the business needs of the government sector.
The meeting aimed to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions and explore the possibility of mutually beneficial cooperation. During the meeting, USU highlighted the campus' affiliation with the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (DIKTI). Campuses under the Ministry of Religious Affairs have a Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH), such as the Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN). In addition, the Universitas Sumatera Utara is also closely associated with various state institutions.
Bank Muamalat, with its excellence in Islamic banking technology and experience managing large campuses, expressed its readiness to support USU's needs. "We are ready to assist USU in meeting the needs of innovative and efficient Islamic banking," said a representative from Bank Muamalat.
Bank Muamalat also offers salary payment services through the Regional Development Bank (BPD), which can include civil servants (ASN), government employees with work agreements (PPPK), and honorariums in state or government institutions. With four branches spread across Medan (Medan Baru, Serdang, and Sukaramai), Bank Muamalat has a wide range to serve these needs. Bank Muamalat hopes to establish close cooperation with USU, following in the footsteps of private institutions that have initiated cooperation with the bank. Almost the entire Sumatra region has collaborated with Bank Muamalat, demonstrating their commitment and ability to meet regional banking needs.
Bank Muamalat's advantages include superior technology and an internationally recognized Islamic banking system, having received the Best Islamic Banking award. This advanced technology allows them to offer faster and more efficient services than other banks. In addition, Bank Muamalat's experience and speed of process in managing the finances of major campuses ensures speed of process in every transaction and service provided. This audience is expected to pave the way for wider and stronger cooperation between the Universitas Sumatera Utara and Bank Muamalat, ultimately providing great benefits for both parties.
