
The meeting was led by the Secretary of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked(OG), Sp.O.G, Subsp.F.E.R. He was accompanied by the Director of DIKG USU, Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T.; the Cooperation Manager, Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si.; the Internationalization Manager, Prof. Dr. Dewi Masyithah Darlan, Sp.Park; as well as representatives of the leadership from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) USU and USU Hospital.

Representing the partner organization was DY Suharya, Regional Director Asia Pacific of Alzheimer’s Disease International, accompanied by the Rector of Unika Atma Jaya, Prof. Dr. dr. Yuda Taruna, Sp.S (K).

The main discussion during the audience focused on efforts to strengthen collaboration and cooperation between the Faculty of Medicine USU, USU Hospital, and Alzheimer’s Indonesia at the global level, with the aim of becoming an international role model. This partnership has, in fact, been established since 2017, and the meeting sought to ensure its continuity while enhancing its quality to generate broader societal impact.

In principle, USU welcomed the initiative and stated that there were no significant obstacles in supporting the sustainability of the planned programs.

As a concrete next step, both parties agreed to hold scheduled meetings to discuss technical aspects and detailed budget planning. Several strategic initiatives to be implemented in the near future include collaborative programs targeting members of PKK and Dharma Wanita, as well as the integration of Alzheimer’s-related issues into a series of jointly managed international conferences.
