Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday (13/11/2024) at the USU Auditorium. The signing was carried out by Prof. Dr. dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked (OG), Sp. O.G, Subsp. F.E.R. and Amri Yusuf, SE, Ak., CA, MM, as a BPKH RI Executive Board member.
This collaboration aims to strengthen the understanding of students and the general public regarding the importance of financial preparation for the Hajj pilgrimage. Through this, MoU, USU, and BPKH agree to work together to organize educational programs that promote financial awareness and Hajj planning from a young age. This program is expected to help the younger generation plan for the Hajj pilgrimage better, taking into account physical and mental readiness.
In his speech, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar, M.Ked (OG), Sp. O.G, Subsp. F.E.R., Secretary of USU, appreciated BPKH's initiative to hold this event at USU. He emphasized the importance of education regarding Hajj governance. "We appreciate BPKH's initiative to hold this event at USU. Education like this is very important so the younger generation understands that Hajj planning is not only a matter of spiritual readiness but also mature financial readiness."
The MoU signing took place before the main event of BPKH Talks Muda Naik Haji, which raised a big theme about the importance of planning for Hajj early on. The event was attended by students, lecturers, and guests from various universities in North Sumatra eager to participate in discussions and education related to Hajj preparation and financial management.
With this collaboration, USU is committed to being an active partner in educating and preparing the younger generation through various programs and activities with BPKH. This initiative aligns with BPKH's efforts to socialize the "young Hajj" campaign and invite the younger generation to be more aware of planning for Hajj early on.
This collaboration is expected to increase students' awareness and involvement in planning their future while supporting BPKH's vision of managing Hajj finances effectively and inclusively in Indonesia.
