USU and North Sumatra Regional Police Discuss Finalizing MoA Document for Strategic Collaboration

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and the North Sumatra Regional Police (Polda Sumut) held an online meeting via Zoom on Wednesday, April 16, 2025. This activity aimed to review and jointly discuss the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) document that will serve as the basis for strategic cooperation between the two institutions.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The meeting was led by Dr. Arif Nuryawan, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D, Secretary of the USU Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships (DIKG), and attended by Prof. Dr. Arida Susilowati, S.Hut., M.Si, USU DIKG Manager, the DIKG staff team, and six representatives from the North Sumatra Regional Police.

 

 

 

 

The main agenda of this audience was to jointly review the content of the MoA document, especially the articles previously drafted by USU. During the discussion, both parties actively provided input and corrections to several points in the cooperation draft so that the MoA could truly reflect the interests and commitments of each institution.

 

 

 

 

This meeting is a crucial step to ensure mutual understanding before entering the implementation phase. The MoA document will serve as the legal basis and a marker of the upcoming tangible collaboration between USU and the North Sumatra Regional Police.

 

 

 

 

After a joint review process, it was agreed that the corrected document would be promptly reported to the leadership of each institution. Both parties also committed to swiftly determine a date for the official signing ceremony of the MoA.

 

This collaboration between USU and the North Sumatra Regional Police is expected to foster various joint initiatives within the Tridharma of higher education, including training, information exchange, and strategic programs that support security, education, and human resource capacity building.
