USU and PLN Icon Plus Sign MoU for Green Energy Campaign

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and PLN Icon Plus officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday (14/08/2024) in the Rector's Audience Room, USU Rectorate Building. The MoU was signed by the Rector of USU, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., and the PLN Icon Plus North of Sumatra Region General Manager, Ajun Muhammad Imanto.

The MoU signing was also attended by several parties from USU, including Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ir. Fahmi, S.T., M.Sc., IPM, Director of the Directorate of Educational Development, Ikhsan Siregar, S.T., M.Eng., Director of the Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations, Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi., M.Psi., and Director of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships, Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T.

From PLN Icon Plus, the North of Sumatra Region for Sales and Marketing Manager, Afira Genubhy, Senior Account Manager, Janson Hengky Sitorus, Account Manager, Afrizal Alfian, and Customer Solution, Mathius Arihta Sebayang were also present.

 

In his speech, USU Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin expressed his hope that by signing this MoU, USU and PLN Icon Plus can create joint activities focusing on Green Energy campaigns. "We hope that our campus can become an example for the wider community in implementing green energy," he said. Furthermore, the USU Rector also hopes that this cooperation can be realized quickly and precisely so as to benefit both parties.

The General Manager of PLN Icon Plus Regional Sumbagut, Ajun Muhammad Imanto, also added that USU, as a Green Campus, requires intensive socialization related to Green Energy. "This cooperation is very important to educate the public about the importance of green energy, especially through the role of campuses that are pioneers in this movement," said Ajun Muhammad Imanto.

Through this collaboration, it is hoped that concrete steps can be taken immediately to implement green energy, making USU a real example of implementing the Green Campus concept in Indonesia.
