Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and PT Agro Sindo International officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday (02/10/2024) at the Rector's Audience Room, USU Rectorate Building. This signing marks the beginning of cooperation between the two institutions in animal husbandry, agriculture, and other activities that benefit the community.
The signing was carried out by the Vice Rector for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation of USU, Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., and CEO of PT Agro Sindo International, Rafee Eunos. Several leaders from both parties attended the event. From the USU side, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Tavi Supriana, MS; Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si; and the Internationalization Manager, Prof. Rikson A.F. Siburian, M.Si., Ph.D. Meanwhile, PT Agro Sindo International was represented by Corporate Secretary Susana and Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) Alween Ong.

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Apt. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., expressed optimism towards this collaboration. "This collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to the development of animal husbandry and agriculture in North Sumatra, especially USU," said Prof. Poppy.

Rafee Eunos, CEO of PT Agro Sindo International, also expressed similar hopes. "We hope that with the establishment of this collaboration, PT Agro Sindo and USU can jointly have a positive impact on the development of more sustainable livestock and agriculture," said Rafee.

After the signing session, the two parties exchanged souvenirs to symbolize cooperation and appreciation. Furthermore, both parties discussed the previously discussed cooperation plans, including collaboration in social activities and livestock development in the North Sumatra region.
This MoU continues a series of previous discussions between USU and Agro Sindo. With this signing, cooperation in various projects, including urban activities in 2025, can begin immediately and provide real benefits to the community and the world of education.
