USU and Tanoto Foundation Extend Cooperation with the Signing of a New MOU

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and Tanoto Foundation once again strengthened their strategic partnership by signing a new Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday (16/05/2024). The ceremony took place solemnly on the USU campus and was attended by several important figures from both parties.
From the USU side, the event was attended by the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si, Vice Rector III of USU, Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., Director of the USU Directorate of Education Development, Ikhsan Siregar ST., M.Eng. and secretary, and Director of the Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations of the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi, M.Psi.
Tanoto Foundation Country Head Inge Kusuma, Head of Leadership Development and Scholarship Michael Susanto, Head of Policy and Advocacy Eddy Henry, Learning Environment Lead Karen Alexandria, Regional Lead Sumatera A Jeffrey Jeo, University Partnership Coordinator Satriya Niko Firdaus attended the event.
The new MOU discusses future strategic collaborations, especially regarding the Tanoto Foundation scholarship program at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. Through this collaboration, USU students are expected to continue receiving support in the form of scholarships and comprehensive leadership training to develop their potential to the fullest.
In his speech, USU Rector Dr. Muryanto Amin stated, "We are very grateful for the continuous support from the Tanoto Foundation. This partnership provides financial assistance and supports the development of soft skills and leadership of our students."
The Country Head of Tanoto Foundation Indonesia, Ms. Inge Kusuma, added, "We are committed to supporting higher education in Indonesia through this partnership. The scholarship and leadership development programs we offer aim to produce future leaders who are competent and have integrity."
The signing ceremony is a testament to both parties' commitment to advancing higher education and creating a positive impact on the wider community. With this MOU, USU and Tanoto Foundation are expected to collaborate closer and provide greater benefits for the entire academic community.
