USU and Universitas Nias Raya Formalize Collaboration Through MoU Signing

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) welcomed a visit from Universitas Nias Raya for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday (23/09/2024). The agreement focuses on academic collaboration, research, and community service. The event, held in the Rector’s Audience Room on the 3rd floor of the Rectorate Building, marks a strategic step for both institutions to strengthen their relationship and jointly develop potential in education.
The event was hosted by USU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., who emphasized the importance of inter-university collaboration in enhancing the quality of education and research. Representing Universitas Nias Raya, Rector Dr. Martiman S. Sarumaha expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended by USU. “We hope this collaboration will bring significant benefits to both universities, especially in supporting high-quality academic and research programs,” said Dr. Martiman S. Sarumaha.
The MoU was signed by USU’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., and Universitas Nias Raya’s Rector, Dr. Martiman S. Sarumaha. The agreement encompasses various areas of cooperation, including academic program development, joint research, faculty and student exchange, and community service activities.
Following the signing, both parties discussed concrete steps to implement the collaboration. Prof. Muryanto Amin stated, “This partnership is not merely a formality but must be realized through tangible activities that positively impact students, faculty, and the community.”
USU officials, including the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Dr. Fadli SE., M.Si., the Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, Dr. Maya Silvi Lydia B.Sc., M.S., and the Directors of the Directorate of Education Development, Student Achievement and Alumni Relations, as well as the Global Partnership Manager, attended the event.
The audience concluded with a group photo session and the exchange of tokens of appreciation between the two universities. This collaboration is expected to enable Universitas Sumatera Utara and Universitas Nias Raya to mutually support efforts to enhance the quality of education, research, and community service.
