Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), together with the Food and Drug Agency (BPOM) Medan, held a socialization activity in the framework of the recruitment of state civil apparatus candidate (CASN) of the Food and Drug 2024 with the theme "Markombur, Recruitment State Civil Apparatus Candidate for Food and Drug Agency 2024". The event, which was held at the USU Student Center on Monday (03/06/2024), was attended by USU Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr Poppy Anjelisa Z Hasibuan, M.Si, Apt., accompanied by the Director of the USU Directorate of Student Achievement and Alumni Relations, Rahma Yurliani, S.Psi, M.Psi.
This activity aims to ensure that the Food and Drug Agency can obtain the best talent, especially from USU alumni, from various fields of science in the upcoming State Civil Apparatus Candidate recruitment. USU was chosen as one of the ten universities visited by the Food and Drug Agency in the framework of the 2024 state civil apparatus candidate recruitment, considering that USU is one of the five universities with the most alumni working at the Food and Drug Agency, in addition to Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Indonesia (UI), Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS).
Although held at USU, this activity was open to the public and was attended by 450 alumni from various universities outside North Sumatra with diverse educational backgrounds.
The event began with remarks from USU Vice Rector III, Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Z Hasibuan, M.Si, Apt. In her speech, Prof. Poppy said that USU, as the creator of the best human resources for the nation's successors, is expected to join the big family of the Food and Drug Agency to advance Indonesia jointly. She also reminded all USU alumni to use this opportunity best.
"The existence of the Food and Drug Agency at USU and the implementation of this activity indicates that USU students are considered to work at the Food and Drug Agency," said Prof. Poppy.
This is clear evidence that the quality of USU graduates is recognized and that they are expected to contribute to the supervision of drugs and food in Indonesia.
Furthermore, the Head of the Human Resources Bureau (HR) of the Food and Drug Agency, Irwansyah, delivered a presentation related to the Agency's profile and Recruitment 2024. He explained the organizational structure, coverage of the supervision area, employee profile, challenges faced by BPOM as a government agency, and trends in mistakes that prospective employees often make during the state civil apparatus candidate recruitment process at the Food and Drug Agency.
In 2024, the Food and Drug Agency will receive 781 state civil apparatus candidate formations for various positions, including Pharmacy and Food Supervisors, Planners, State Budget Analysts, Apparatus HR Analysts, Archivists, and so on.
This "MARKOMBUR BPOM" activity is expected to help prospective applicants prepare themselves better and provide a clear picture of the recruitment process and requirements at the Food and Drug Agency. Thus, the Agency can recruit the best talents who are ready to contribute to guarding the safety of drugs and food in Indonesia.
