The public lecture opened at 09.30 AM with remarks from the MC. The event continued with remarks from the Vice Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara, Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si. In her speech, Prof. Poppy stated, "We are very proud to be able to organize this event, which not only strengthens diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Belgium but also provides important insights to our students regarding international relations."
After the speeches, the event continued with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session. Then, the public lecture began with a presentation from the Belgian Ambassador to Indonesia, H. E. Frank Felix. In his presentation, Felix discussed the long history of bilateral relations between Indonesia and Belgium and the various aspects of cooperation that have been established, ranging from politics to economics to culture.
"In the last 75 years, relations between Belgium and Indonesia have developed rapidly and covered many fields. Belgium was one of the first European countries to recognize Indonesia's independence. We are proud of this achievement and hope to continue strengthening cooperation in the future," Felix said in his presentation.
After the public lecture, a question and answer session was opened for the participants to discuss further with the Belgian Ambassador. The event ended at 10.30 AM with a closing speech by the MC, who expressed his appreciation to all parties involved in organizing this event.

This event is expected to provide valuable insights for USU students about the importance of international relations and how cooperation between countries can benefit both parties.
