USU Signs MoU with Zurich Syariah and Holds Public Lecture on Digital Transformation
Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Zurich General Takaful Indonesia (Zurich Syariah) on Thursday (20/02/2025) at the Digital Learning Center Building (DLCB) USU. In addition to the MoU signing, the event featured a public lecture titled “Zurich Syariah Goes to Campus,” which discussed digital transformation in Islamic insurance and its role in creating a competitive and sustainable Sharia economic ecosystem.

USU Holds SDGs Socialization: Optimizing the Role of Universities in Sustainable Development
Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) organized a two-day socialization event on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on Tuesday-Wednesday (18-19/02/2025) at the Digital Learning Center Building (DLCB) USU. The socialization, titled "Empowering Change Through Universities: Enhancing Awareness and Knowledge on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to Drive Global Impact," was opened by USU Vice Rector for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., and attended by USU's Vice Rector I, the University Secretary, as well as deans and academics involved in implementing SDGs on campus.

USU Welcomes Universiti Putra Malaysia Delegation for Inbound Program 2024
Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) warmly welcomed a delegation of inbound students from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as part of the international student exchange program on Monday (December 16, 2024). The welcoming ceremony took place at the Equity Meeting Room, USU Rectorate Building, led by Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.E., M.T., Director of the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships, accompanied by Arif Nuryawan, S.Hut., M.Si., Ph.D., Secretary of the Directorate.

Vice Rector III Holds SBM/BKK Technical Guidance, Discusses Laboratory Service Tariff Calculation
The Vice Rector III of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Prof. Dr. Apt. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, M.Si., conducted a Technical Guidance (Bimtek) session on SBM/BKK held at the IMT-GT Room, 2nd Floor, USU Rectorate Building. KNB USU Students Conduct an Excursion Study at SMPN 2 Kabanjahe to Improve Their Indonesian Language Skills
Five students who received the Developing Countries Partnership (KNB) Scholarship from the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), currently attending the Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) training at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) USU, conducted an Excursion Study at SMPN 2 Kabanjahe on January 17–18, 2025. This program aims to enhance their Indonesian language skills, particularly speaking, through direct interaction with middle school students.
